Sydney Fish Market

The Sydney Fish Market was on the list of places that we wanted to go to in Sydney. We missed out on going to the Tsukiji Fish Market while in Japan and did not want to miss out this time. Plus, the Mr. and I promised M that we will have salmon at the fish market after our day out at Taronga Zoo and having Italian food the day before.

The Sydney Fish Market is open everyday from 7am until 4pm. It is located on Bank St. and Pyrmont Bridge Road and sits on Blackwattle Bay. It is the world's third largest fish market. The Sydney Fish Market incorporates having a wholesale fish market, a working fishing port alongside a deli, a sushi bar, seafood cooking school as well as having an indoor and outdoor seating options for visitors. The market will move to a larger location on an adjacent site in the near future and you can read more here for the recent news about the project.

As we walked along inside, it was bustling with many people ordering fresh seafood and you can order from fish and chips to large dishes of fresh catch, enough to feed an army.

Blackwattle deli offers many things from olive oil to chocolate to pasta. We bought some salami and revilla from them and took it home with us. M just kept eating the samples that they were offering.
