A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

Another update for A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That...

I'm still trying to get use to finding interesting sites that will make it into this section. Right now, I'm loving sites that feature food, wine, house ideas, fashion... Simply, anything that grabs my attention.

Rounding up the top five that made it into this week's list:

  1. http://beyondkimchee.blogspot.com- Food. Korean style. My dad loves kimchee. And, my husband loves kimchee. And, I think my mom loves kimchee, as well. For all the people that matters to me the most, they love kimchee, and, I don't. Well... I take that back, I haven't had the chance to properly enjoy kimchee. Sure, I've gone to many Korean restaurants but I don't go out of my way to eat kimchee when I'm there for something else. This blog makes me want to try kimchee is various ways. Hopefully, sometime soon, I can make some of the recipes featured in this blog.
  2. http://thistimetomorrow-krystal.blogspot.com/- This is a style blog by Krystal, who lives in the Bay Area. She works as a fashion editor in the area. I love her style, although, there are some outfits that I can't pull off. Kudos to her.
  3. http://orangette.blogspot.com/- Food. This blog comes courtesy of Molly Wizenberg, who lives in Seattle. She started this blog back in 2004, when she decided she did not want to continue pursuing a PhD in cultural anthropology. I applaud her for going after what she wanted during a period of time, where she didn't know what to do with herself. Maybe, someday, I will have the courage to try something new and creative to fill the gap in my life, that seems to yearn for some creativity. (And, this is why I am blogging... it helps fill in the gap and lessens the divide somehow)
  4. http://theteaspot.com- I simply love tea. I came across this website again and it is amazing. This blog is written by a group of people, who live in Boulder, Colorado. No wonder, they love tea! This blog follows their journey in making loose tea into an everyday luxury. Totally agree!
  5. http://thepaintedhive.blogspot.com- This website is by Kristine and she describes herself as a designaholic. I wholeheartedly agree with her description of herself from the posts that I have read. She lives in Australia with her husband and daughter, as well as some furry friends. Her posts are relatively easy to follow and entertaining. I love all the ideas that she has come up with. One post of hers, where she talks about ideas for entryways, is great. At my house, we have this underutilized space, that I would love to put something there to dress it up. I want a table like pictured below to grace my entrance foyer. I love the whole concept of the table with the quaint luggage bags used as accessories, but I'm sure can also double for hiding those little things that we don't want seen lying around the house.

On another exciting note, the hubby has been full steam ahead with his photography work. He came across the works of Jason Lee, who basically documented his two daughters in various photo-ops, as a way for his mother to see them. His mother was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and he wanted his mother to see his daughter, without risking her health. He had started this project back in 2006, basically bribing his daughters with snacks, iPad Time and lots of TV time. The same things, that I probably got bribed with when I was younger. You can see his creative kid portraits on his personal website: Kristin and Kayla as well as on his blog and professional website. You can also catch him on his Flickr page. Here is one photo from his site... doesn't it bring a smile to your face?
