Coffee or Tea...

...or both?

Whether you're a coffee drinker or a tea lover, you can say that you enjoy having a hot cup of goodness held between your hands. Or cold, for all those hot summer days that will arrive soon.

I am a big HUGE tea drinker. As well as coffee, though coffee not so much.

To get both my fixes, I usually frequent Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. They have so many great choices and I don't feel so guilty about all those calories that I'm taking. Although, the only downside to my absolute being in love with Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, is that I have not found one close by where we live now. The closest one that I know of is in the city and that is at least a 40 minute drive for me. Unless, of course, the hubby and I decide to take a day trip to city on a weekend.

However, there are many other places that I can actually get my tea fix or coffee fix on. There's always Starbucks or Peet's. But, there are also a number of mom and pop chains and coffee shops that are not chains.

In downtown Mountain View, on Castro Street, you can frequent Red Rock for some great coffee and listen to live music. They also have an open mic night every Monday, which has been a tradition for the past 15 years. Check out: Red Rock for more info.

There is also Tea Era just a ways down from Red Rock. They serve both hot and cold teas as well as flavored coffee with and without tapioca pearls. And to buy your own tea, you can visit Mountain View Tea Village. It's a quaint little store where you can buy different types and flavors of tea as well as tea pots. It's a great place to buy gifts for a tea-lover. Wink, wink (talking about me)

So, go out for a drink and try out these places. Let me know if you find any others that you would recommend around the Bay Area.
