Kid Scene :: Yes Creative Lab

Last week, the kids and I took a Mommy/Daddy + Me art class being held at Yes Creative Lab. It's an art school that's recently opened in Mountain View. They are located right next to Firebird Dance, right on El Camino Real, sharing the same building.

Yes Creative Lab is the brainchild of Alisa Wittkop, the owner and director of Yes Creative Lab. She is a great lady and has a great energy that the kids just listen to her. My little lady was very interested in doing her art, the theme that week was space with the earth and the sun. Yes Creative Lab is a place for children to be inspired, have ides and create art.

The classes are divided into age groups - Mommy/Daddy + Me, Creative Sparks, Big Ideas, Daring Doers and Makers & Shakers. You can get more information about each age group - here. The little lady fell into two categories - Mommy/Daddy + Me and Creative Sparks. I haven't gotten a hold of Alisa but I will probably have her try to Creative Sparks class. It is a drop-off course versus the Mommy/Daddy + Me. Taking the class together was a great way for me to gauge both kids interest. Speaking of classes, the first class is free, which can be a trial class. If you'd like to try another class, you'd have to pay a fee. Classes can range about $90/month to $150/month, depending on what age group as well as how long the class is.

You can attend the open studio as well. The drop in rate is $13/hr with $10/hr per additional sibling. Parents must stay with their child during this time. Packages are offered as well.

All in all, we had a great experience. We'd definitely go back and do it again.

Many thanks to Alisa.
