What's On...
... for tonight's dinner menu? (This will be the start of The Homebody Series)
Since the last What's On... post, I still had a lot of pork chops left over. Not wanting to waste such meat, the pack of meat I got was about 2 pounds... Basically, about 12 pieces ofprime meat. We're not talking about USDA prime steaks...
Anyways, I've never been one to follow recipes. I always make up my own. And, never remember what ingredients I add or not. But, that's just the way it is. So, no pork chop of mine is ever the same. Just ask Tom- he'll tell you.
Usually, when I cook my pork chops, I marinate them overnight in vinegar and soy sauce. But, for this time around... I had no soy sauce. Crazy, right? Especially, since I use soy sauce in everything! But, at least I had vinegar. See my post here detailing my love for these two.
I had some red wine vinegar and I just douse my chops with them in a ziploc bag. Add a dash of pepper and some salt. For my secret ingredient this time around, I had some Jufran Banana Ketchup. I know- banana ketchup! What a novelty. If you haven't tried it, go to your local Safeway or 99 Ranch and get some. The HOT version is even better than the regular one. And, marinate overnight.
So, when I got home today from work, just simmer some red onions until they turn the shiny color and add the pork chops. Cook and enjoy.
