Independence Day

It is July 1st, the first day of the seventh month of the year. It is crazy just how fast the year seems to be going. But, that is not the topic of this post.

Just 3 days from today, we will be celebrating the birth of our nation- the Fourth of July, Independence Day. And, what does the Fourth mean to us? Sales, BBQ, summer picnics... It is something to look forward to.

Here are the list of some ongoings in the area to prepare for the Fourth:

1. Macys.com is currently having a sale, as is, many other stores- Nordstrom, H&M, etc... So, go shop and get that special something that you have been eyeing.

2. Check out sfgate for events:

Pier 39 is having a firework celebration.
The USS Hornet is having a 'Celebrate the 4th on the Hornet'
The Winery SF at Treasure Island is having their Red, White and Rose- 4th of July Party
You can go on a cruise and watch fireworks

3. Napa County- You can get out of the Bay and head on to Wine Country to enjoy the 4th. See Napa Valley

4. If you're local, near Palo Alto and Mountain View, I believe that there is also a 4th of July Celebration at the Shoreline Amphitheater with the SF Symphony.

Granted, the 4th landed on a Wednesday this year and plans to go celebrate is hard. The 4th has always landed on a Monday or a Friday, giving us 3 day weekends but not this year. So, why not go all out and take those extra two days off? Have a 5-day weekend, instead?

What are your plans for the 4th? As for me, I'll be heading out to Napa...
